How to eat like a local
Updated: Jan 23, 2019
I have been wining and dinning, drinking and eating, harvesting and cooking since my arrival to Mallorca 12 years ago. The first thing you must know is that the food scene in Mallorca is Hot! And why shouldn't it be with the Mediterranean Sea at our shores and fantastically fresh produce wherever you turn. Olive oil has been produced here since the days that Cesar ruled the Roman Empire. Wines have been cultivated since 1776 at Can Ribas, the oldest winery in Mallorca and one of the oldest in Spain. Mallorca produces some of the Worlds best wines with over fifty wineries just waiting for your approval. Visiting the local markets and selecting the best local seafood, produce, cheese or meat and heading back with my clients and preparing that evenings meal is one of my favorite things to do in Mallorca. Drinking wine and snacking on Almonds and Cheese while cooking that evenings meal is a true Mediterranean experience. All the wonderfully fresh food from the nights dinner will be well used on the following days adventure!
